Citizens of most countries require valid visa to enter Angola. The Angolan Consulate General determines the duration of stay upon receiving an application. The types and categories differ according to the purpose of visit, length of stay and bilateral arrangement with the country of the foreign national.
TOURIST VISA – Tourism; leisure, sport, cultural activities.
TRANSIT VISA – Stopover in Angola.
SHORT-TERM VISA – Issued to persons who, for urgent reasons, need to enter national territory, as well as for urgent medical circumstances or casualties, travel of seamen/technicians hired by the oil sector.
ORDINARY VISA – Family affairs; business contacts
WORK VISA – Temporary authorized employment, for public or private companies.
RESIDENCE PERMIT VISA – to establish residency in Angola.
TEMPORARY STAY VISA – Humanitarian reasons, mission for a religious institution, scientific research, companion/family member of the holder of a Study Visa, Visa for Medical Treatment, Privileged Visa, Work Visa, family member of the holder of a valid residence permit, spouse of an Angolan national.
PRIVILEGED VISA – Implementation of the approved investment, in accordance with the Private Investment Law.
STUDY VISA – To enroll educational programs in primary/secondary public of private schools or vocational schools or studies for obtaining an academic degree, to take an internship in public of private companies.
VISA FOR MEDICAL TREATMENT – To undergo medical treatment in a public of private medical unit.
