Brazil Visa Vitur Conference and Tournaments – Non-U.S. Citizens:
VITUR – Requirements checklist:
(Tourist visa for attendees or unpaid speakers at a conference or tournament)
STANDARD REQUIREMENTS
- A) Applicant’s Passport: original, undamaged; valid for at least another 6 months, with at least two blank visa pages.
- B) Visa Application Form: printed receipt of the visa application form filled out and successfully submitted online duly signed by the passport holder (or parents/legal guardian of a minor) and with the photo glued on the appropriate boxes.
- C) Photograph: one recent, clear, front view, in color, professional 2″x2″ passport photo of the applicant with a plain white or off-white background.
- D) Itinerary: copy of your round-trip ticket, reservation, or letter from a travel agency under applicant’s name, listing flight number and arrival/departure dates and reservation code provided by the airline/cruise company;
- E) FEES: Individual money order from the United States Postal Service in the exact amount for each visa requested listing applicant’s name on the section “From”.
- Example: John will come in person to submit 2 visa applications: 1 for himself (US citizen), 1 for a coworker(Canadian citizen). During his appointment he must have 2 USPS money orders in the amount of US$ 160.00 under his name and another in the amount of US$ 85.00 under his coworkers.
SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS
If you will attend a conference just as a spectator or an open tournament as an amateur athlete or artist:
- F) Proof of registration: print-out of the confirmation document that you have signed up to attend the event.
If you were invited to attend a conference as an unpaid speaker or a competition as a professional athlete/artist without receiving a fee to participate in it:
- G) Signed Invitations Letter issued by the event organization on their letterhead stationery and signed by the senior event coordinator or sponsoring institution manager. This document must provide detailed information about the event and the terms of your participation in it, including:
- Name of the institution organizing the event;
- Name(s) of person(s) to be contacted in Brazil, phone number(s) and his/her/their functions in the organization of the event in case further information is deemed necessary;
- Type of event;
- When and where the event will take place;
- Information about the guest speaker/athlete/artist and why he/she was invited to participate in the event;
- Terms of your participation in the events.
Examples:
If you will be giving a lecture, the letter must inform what topics will your lecture be about, what kind of expenses will be covered by the event organization, statement that no classes, training or any other activities forbidden for bearers of a tourist visa will be performed during the stay in Brazil and that no honorariums will be paid to the guest speaker for the lecture he/she will be giving;
If you are a professional artist/athlete participating in friendly match, exhibition game, free performance, pecuniary conditions that will be covered by the event organization, statement that no classes, training, paid work or any other activities forbidden for bearers of a tourist visa will be performed during the stay in Brazil and that no fees will be paid to the guest for this presentation;
NOTE: Invitation letters MUST HAVE ALL of the above mentioned information. Invitation letters missing any of the required information and/or without signature WILL NOT be accepted and therefore visa application WILL NOT be processed
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
If the visa application will not be submitted in person:
- H) Proof of jurisdiction: notarized copy of driver’s license, utility bill, lease, bank statements or school transcript.
If the not applying with a US passport:
- I) Proof of Legal Residency: notarized copy of visa, permanent resident card or US passport or US birth certificate.
If you already have a valid visa on another passport(This applies even if your previous passport was cancelled):
- J) Passport with the valid visa and a notarized letter from the applicant requesting the cancellation of the valid visa. If the previous visa was authorized by the Ministry of Labor, the work permit must have its status as cancelled on the Ministry of Labor’s website.
If you will be applying for a visa on a passport issued by Afghanistan, Central African Republic, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Kosovo, Lebanon, Libya, Nepal, Nigeria, North Korea, Pakistan, Palestine, Senegal, South Sudan, Sudan, Syria or Taiwan:
- K) Detailed information on applicant’s place of lodging in Brazil (hotel reservation or letter from Brazilian host), flight and notarized bank statements reflecting the past 3 months are required.
